"When it comes to success, I measure it differently than perhaps other bloggers. I measure it in the simple impacts I’ve made on people and the mind bending people that I’ve had the blessing to now call friends along the way."
4 days until the online debut
There’s so much I would like to say to you all but that is perhaps a conversation over a couple glasses of wine leading to a couple stumbles on some cobblestone and a dollar pizza. I want to personally address you and sincerely thank you for all the support, little and large. I started this blog without much expectations, direction, or perhaps, any idea of what I was doing. Paul Arden taught me that it didn’t need to be perfect because an idea is only good if it was actually executed. I did things because it felt creatively right. I worked endlessly and beside other priorities day by day because that’s all I knew. I didn’t have a vision of the future because I wasn’t capable of thinking that far ahead. And I must say that it is one of the reasons why I have met such substantial success. When it comes to success, I measure it differently than perhaps other bloggers. I measure it in the simple impacts I’ve made on people and the mind bending people that I’ve had the blessing to now call friends along the way. And everyone I was lucky enough to connect with along social media. If I can somehow meet each and every one of you and just have a conversation with you, I would. Perhaps a teleportation device will be created one day and that will be what I will exactly do.
On Sunday September 21, I am excited to host an event at another creative space - Razorsharp Barber Shop - to not only gather some of my supporters, friends, and family from the tristate area in one place but to introduce some new exciting things. The first thing is the Neckbreakin’ Style (n.) Video defining what this journey has been and continues to be. This video is produced by MoonCulture Films who I’m proud to also call my friends. The second thing is the new #Neckbrkr Street Style page introducing a community to Neckbreakin’ Style. This page creates a space beyond my story to include others who are a #neckbrkr from many different walks of life. They are not just stylish street style, i.e. sartorialist shots, but they are individuals who leave an impact on me and will sure leave some presence to you. The third thing is a brand new look. I hope these changes don’t scare you because I will reassure you that these are things that have organically reached to this change. Please come by to say hi, snack on some sweets, drink some booze, get friendly, and meet other dope creatives.
I started this blog with the first post titled “A Journey” and I can’t wait to continue this road as I make a solid turn in a huge fork. I may not know what the destination is, but I’m glad you’re along with me for this ride.
If you can’t make this event, no worries! The online debut of the video, #Neckbrkr Street Style, and a brand new look is September 23, 2014. Appropriately, it is also the first day of Fall - my favorite holiday. For the next couple days, we will be counting down with behind the scenes pictures. So let the countdown begin! 4 days until the debut
