You Can't Sit With Us

"On the other side of the color expectancy, Mai and I come together for a whole different side of sass. Just as much as we remember that social walk from the locker to the classroom, leaving that permanent drool stain on your desk, ordering plates and plates of fries for lunch because that and pizza was your only food groups, we will also never forget the days we DID NOT go to school."

Tell me, what world would we live in if we didn't make a Mean Girls reference? I would not want to live in that world, that anti-pink and cold, cold world. I can't go through a dinner with my lady friends without at least making one or two Mean Girl references - "There's a 30% chance that it's already raining" as we grab our own boobs.  I don't think I went a Christmas without thinking about that scandalous pleather dance number (and probably thought about doing the same choreograph) too many times. This is my short paragraph of total Mean Girls geek out. But you get the idea. I love this movie.

So, on the other side of the color expectancy, Mai and I come together for a whole different side of sass. Just as much as we remember that social walk from the locker to the classroom, leaving that permanent drool stain on your desk, ordering plates and plates of fries for lunch because that and pizza were your only food groups, we will also never forget the days we DID NOT go to school. Yes, you bad thing, you! I know you played hookie. So did I. And so did Regina, Gretchen, Karen, and Cady. It's clear that breaking a couple rules to get out of class is just apart of the growing pains! Being bad is always better with other people. It was the best when the scheme extended to your friends. Learning who to scheme with and lie your way out of the education system is an expression of adolescence. Besides doing it in style, preferable in watermelon Keds, make sure who you do it with is a blast in a glass or at least your ride or die, like Cameron to Ferris in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Practice young grasshoppers, you'll need the skills later when you have to call out of big girl and big boy jobs. Kidding (not really)
